Auntie Karen, also known as Denise Bradley, is a viral vigilante who creates videos on TikTok to expose people she calls out for racial slurs and discriminatory behavior. She lives by the mantra “the devil works hard, but we work harder.”

She has an extensive social media following and is a strong advocate for the Black Lives Matter movement and queer rights. However, she has recently been the target of alleged death threats.

TikTok Influencer Denise Bradley, dubbed Aunt Karen by her followers, is known for her viral videos calling out racists and holding them accountable. She lives by her slogan “the devil works hard, but we work harder.”

In 2020, Bradley started using her TikTok account to expose racial slurs and derogatory comments online. She identifies people using racist or discriminatory language and posts their names and public info, such as their home addresses, to encourage her followers to ID them and demand accountability.

Recently, she infiltrated and disbanded a white supremacist group on Facebook. Her latest video exposing this group, White Lives Matter 2.0, is a viral hit, and shows that even in our age of racial equality, hate groups like this one still exist and thrive.

To fight back against these types of messages, the Auntie Karen Foundation has created a series of reproducible community outreach programs. These are programs for youth Pre K – 2nd grade that focus on life skills through music, puppets and animation.

What is Auntie Karen’s Place?

Auntie Karen’s Place is a unique and fun place for kids to create. Located in downtown Columbia, the aptly named place offers a safe space for creativity paired with a host of programs designed to empower, enlighten and educate children through the arts. The best part about this one of a kind establishment is that its doors are open to the public free of charge. The name speaks for itself and the place has earned numerous accolades and awards, including a Platinum Award from the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice for its work with At Risk Youth.

What is Auntie Karen’s Foundation?

The Auntie Karen Foundation is a global, 501 c 3 nonprofit corporation that creates and pilots a series of replicable community outreach programs designed to empower, enlighten and educate through the arts.

The Foundation also produces a variety of other events and products. For instance, they produce a TV show called the “Auntie Karen Place” which is a life skill oriented television program for pre-k through 2nd grade students utilizing music and puppets to teach topics such as financial literacy, sickle cell awareness and emergency preparedness.

The Foundation also produces a Legends of Concert Series and several other unique offerings, including the Young Entrepreneurs Conference that showcases businesses by children from seven to twenty-two years old. The Foundation also has a certified teen after school center which serves youth at-risk and in the juvenile justice system. The Foundation was recently awarded the South Carolina Governor’s Award for Humanities and a Platinum Award from the Department of Juvenile Justice for their work with At Risk Youth.

What is Auntie Karen’s Legends of Concert Series?

Auntie Karen’s Legends of Concert Series features a jazz, rhythm and blues, gospel or blues artist who has made significant contributions to the history of music. This production is a signature fundraiser for the Auntie Karen Foundation and returns after a one year hiatus during Black History Month.

The Legends of Concert Series was launched in 2004 and has featured a variety of International Grammy Award winners and other artists. This event has become a staple in the community and attracts people throughout South Carolina as well as neighboring states such as Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee.

On Friday, February 21, 2014, the Auntie Karen Foundation hosted the 11th Annual Legends of Concert Series at the Koger Center for the Arts in Columbia. The show featured Kirk Whalum, Lalah Hathaway and Jonathan Butler.
