How rich is Boris Becker?

Former German tennis player Boris Becker is estimated to own a Assets of only 500,000 euros. Once it should have been over 100 million euros. The income is estimated at around one million euros for the current year, of which Boris currently has to surrender 52% of his monthly earnings to the insolvency administrator due to the English bankruptcy proceedings against him. On June 21, 2017, a judge in London officially declared Boris Becker bankrupt. Only 2 weeks later came the next bad news about Becker’s debts, because the Swiss businessman Hans-Dieter Cleven has stated that he still has a payment arrears amounting to the equivalent of 37.7 million euros. In total, however, 15 creditors are now demanding money from Becker. According to media reports, claims amounting to the equivalent of 61 million euros have been received. It remains to be seen how the negotiations and the insolvency proceedings will continue. Boris is not bankrupt, however, as he still owns a few properties and other companies.

Boris Becker’s assets and income

As an advertising star, Boris Becker is always present with the Germans and in the media even after his active career as a tennis player. Bad investment in car dealerships

Furthermore, Boris Becker is also active as a (rather less successful) entrepreneur and was the owner of three Mercedes car dealerships in Greifswald, Stralsund and Ribnitz-Damgarten. He employed 160 people and the turnover was over 30 million euros, but only a small profit remained. At the end of 2016 it became known that the ex-tennis star wanted to sell his car dealerships. The purchase was completed in Q1 2017 and the dealerships were taken over by the Mercedes dealer chain Brinkmann. Nothing more is known about the purchase price.

Tennis career

Boris Becker became extremely popular in Germany when he, among other things, played the renowned tennis tournament Wimbledon could win. He achieved this several times and to this day, at only 17 years old, is the younger winner in the history of the traditional tournament. His greatest successes on the tennis court include winning a gold medal in doubles and a bronze medal in singles Olympia. Becker was voted German Sportsman of the Year four times, with many experts of the opinion that Becker achieved everything as a tennis player. According to a renowned tennis magazine, Boris is ranked 18th among the 40 greatest tennis players in the world.

“Head of Men’s Tennis” at the DTB

Boris has been back in office as “Head of Men’s Tennis” in the German Tennis Association since August 2017. He should not receive a salary from the DTB for this task, but work in this position on a voluntary basis. The federal government will not reimburse more than travel expenses.
