James Rodriguez: Everton Net Worth and Salary
How much does James Rodriguez earn?
James Rodriguez is one of the best football players in the world and moved from Real Madrid to Bayern on loan for 2 years in the summer of 2017. In Munich he earned an annual income Salary of 6.5 million euros net. It emerged from the leaked Football Leaks contract. The FCB also paid all taxes for the player, who earns 541,670 euros net monthly, around 13 million gross / year. Bonus payments were still excluded here, however, because according to the contract, the footballer could earn an extra 250,000 euros if he scores 12 goals in one season and another 250,000 euros if he assists 20 goals in one season. The footballer is currently under contract with Everton FC.
James is also a popular advertising face and has already worked for campaigns for Adidas, Calvin Klein, Nivea and Pepsi. Overall, the young Colombian was already able to do one estimated fortune of 45 million euros build up.
Career – From Zero to Hero
Moving to Europe: On the way to becoming a top earner
FC Porto signed James Rodriguez in the summer of 2010 for 7.35 million euros and brought the Colombian to Portugal. With FC Porto, the superstar won three championships in a row, once the cup and the 2011 European League. At this point it was already clear that the top clubs in Europe would also try to win him.
AS Monaco signed the Colombian in the summer of 2013 for a transfer fee of 45 million euros. James already earned a salary of 6 million euros per season in Monaco, which also enabled him to move up financially to a higher league. Overall, he played a remarkably strong season for the Ligue 1 club.
At the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, James Rodriguez was an integral part of the Colombian national team. The team was able to fight their way through to the quarter-finals before they lost out to the host country. With a total of six goals, James was the top scorer of the tournament and with his incredible volley against Uruguay he also scored the most beautiful goal of the tournament. It was already clear during the tournament that the career would go into the next round.
Real Madrid + mega salary
The prestigious back number 10 should be at Real, which players like Mesut Özil, Robinho or Luis Figo previously wore. With the number 10, James Rodriguez was able to win the Champions League twice (2016 + 2017) with Real Madrid and become Spanish champion 2017. In the first year, the superstar earned 7 million euros and in the next two years 7.75 million euros. Without a bonus, of course. Here Real has probably added the sum again in the two seasons 2015/16 + 2016/17 with the bonuses from the Champions League victories. The contract was extended in 2017 to the summer of 2021, increasing the superstar’s salary to an incredible 16.6 million euros, one more reason why coach Zinedine Zidane wanted to remove him from Real’s payroll.
Change and salary at Everton FC
For the 2020/21 season, James was sold to Premier League Club Everton FC for 25 million euros. For his former and new coach Carlo Ancelotti, he should earn the equivalent of only 7 million euros including bonuses and thus accept large wage losses.

Former salary at FC Bayern Munich
Quite surprisingly, it was announced in July 2017 that the German record champions FC Bayern Munich are interested in a loan deal. James Rodriguez was on loan from Real Madrid for two years. The price for this was only 10 million euros. FC Bayern also had a purchase option with a fixed EUR 35.2 million, which, however, was not drawn. The FCB was able to agree on a salary of “only” 6.5 million euros “net” per season and so the Colombian was not even among the top earners at Bayern Munich.
Million fine for tax evasion in Spain
The Spanish authorities charged him with untaxed income from image rights. A payment of 11.65 million euros for tax evasion is to be demanded. According to the authorities, the income from the image rights was 6.35 million euros, which were embezzled. In addition to this requirement, there is a hefty fine + interest.
