He was found dead on July 20th, 2017 at the age of only 41 in a house in Palos Verdes Estates, near Los Angeles. Confirmations from the police and information from the band members are still pending. A shaped life

Chester Benninton had a tough time as a child. Serious incidents have permeated his life. When he was 11 years old, his parents divorced. Neither the father nor the mother cared enough for him. He felt very neglected and even wished he could kill his family and run away from home. Chester Bennington was also exposed to sexual abuse and could not confide in anyone. All in all, he had a very difficult childhood and he never felt the carefree feeling that children usually have.

Back then the bands Depeche Mode and the Stone Temple Pilots were his role models. He was a member of the second band mentioned until 2015. In 1993 the founding of Sean Dowdell and his Friends followed, the dream of becoming a musician came true for Chester. But life as a musician also had its downsides. The singer became addicted to drugs and alcohol, he used them as a remedy to suppress the difficult childhood memories. By the time he was of legal age, he was at the peak of drug addiction. He was therefore sentenced to social hours by a court.

The band Dowdell and his Friends did not have a big breakthrough, which is why the end of the band in 1998 was not surprising. Linkin Park started his career in 1999, and the group initially called itself Hybrid Theory. Their first EP was a flop, so the members tried to develop a new strategy for success. They succeeded, together with the new publisher Warner Music Group they had found a strong partner. With their new name, Linkin Park, they are putting the Year 2000 the first step for many great successese. Their first album sold over 24 million copies – the band is one of the biggest of the 21st century.

Despite the ongoing success and many musical highlights, Chester Bennington suffered. Alcohol and drugs were his friends. His childhood kept catching up with him, maybe until the end. Some experiences are hard to cope with, Chester probably couldn’t. As a lead singer Chester Bennington was unbeatable, the fans were enthusiastic about him and his band Linkin Park. He was also involved in many music projects, including the song Yesterday with Paul McCartney. The musician leaves six children and many songs that will remind us of him forever.
