PEMF Therapy is Effective in Reducing Tissue Inflammation

Tissue Inflammation

One fact you probably did not know is that inflammation is pretty normal and it is your body’s way of healing itself by putting white blood cells to work. When your body detects a threat or damage, blood vessels enlarge to pave way for plasma proteins and leukocytes to reach the affected area easily; this enlargement may then result in inflammation.  However, inflammation can become serious and prolonged; this is usually a sign of underlying health problems. Swelling can be regarded as the inflammation of soft tissue that can be caused by injury, surgery, infection, and illness. Two main types of inflammation have been identified and they include acute and chronic inflammation. Acute inflammation is often associated with an injury which can bring with it a short-term inflammation and can often result from a bee sting, allergies, and exposure to dust. Pain, loss of function, heat, loss of function, and redness are signs of acute inflammation. Chronic inflammation however can be caused by conditions such as arthritis, immune disorder, exposure, sensitivity, and persistent acute inflammation. It can be uncomfortable and can lead to excruciating pains and limit mobility if left unattended. Tissue inflammation can contribute to some chronic diseases which may include heart disease, obesity, and type 2 diabetes. Patients with the fore mentioned conditions are more likely to be prone to higher levels of inflammation. Furthermore, inflammation is caused when an immune reaction is triggered by a physical factor. As mentioned earlier, inflammation does not indicate infection but an infection can cause inflammation.

How PEMF Therapy can reduce Tissue Inflammation

Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) is a procedure that improves cellular energy and can also reduce inflammation. It is an effective therapy that directly reduces inflammation. It improves the body’s immune response that in turn quickens the healing of the inflamed area. Also, on the plus side, it increases your mood and improves cellular metabolism. The electromagnetic fields in this therapy are powerful enough to penetrate the body and reach internal organs.  The efficiency of the immune system is directly proportional to the amount of time it will take for the body to tackle inflammation. And, as a result, PEMF therapy reduces inflammation by addressing the cellular source of the swelling by regenerating the cells with a mild electromagnetic frequency; this, in turn, reduces the inflammatory fluids that might have built up. It has even been observed by researchers and scientists that PEMF therapy conducted for arthritic conditions employs anti-inflammatory action which helps to remodel bones and it has been argued that this therapy can, in the future, be developed to be a more dependable alternative treatment for arthritis. This therapy further slows down the release of pain mediators and rejuvenates cell interactions. It also improves pain and reduces swelling by ensuring that the cells pump out sodium and brings in potassium. PEMF therapy has been regarded to be a part of regenerative therapies that will pave way for a better means to manage pain and some chronic conditions. The effect of this therapy is rapid and some patients have even claimed to experience changes within hours of administration. There are available drugs to treat tissue inflammation but some of them have side effects that can lead to further complications such as short-term memory loss, diarrhea, headache, drowsiness, kidney failure, gastric bleeding, and so on. This is why it is advised to undergo PEMF therapy to avoid all these side effects. However, because PEMF therapy is still a relatively new technology, some doctors are unaware or lack enough knowledge about how it works; it is, therefore, important for you to ensure that the doctor you are consulting is well aware of the PEMF therapy side effects and its benefits. Note that there is a limited amount of researches and understanding surrounding how well PEMF therapy can help to reduce tissue inflammation but this does not reduce its effectiveness.

Conclusion

Tissue inflammation is your body’s way of repairing damages. But in some cases, it can pose complications and can be related to underlying health problems. The inflammation can either be acute or chronic. When it is acute, it implies that it was caused by allergies or infections but when it is chronic; the pain is more pronounced and is often linked to conditions such as type 2 diabetes. PEMF therapy is a new technology that is being administered to manage better cell communication and the reduction of inflamed areas
