The ultimate Spring makeup guide

We have made it through Winter and the coldest months of the year, and Spring is just on the horizon! With this in mind, now is the time to start thinking about the hottest Spring makeup trends for this year and how you can achieve the ultimate Spring makeup look for 2023.

So, without further ado, let us get started on the Spring makeup looks that are definitely worth trying out this upcoming season.

Blush here, blush everywhere

You can’t go wrong with a little, or a lot, of blush this Spring! Remember that blush can be applied in a variety of ways to achieve different effects depending on where it’s applied on your face and how.

Start with applying it at the high points of your cheekbones, blending it upwards in a reverse ‘C’ motion. This type of blush application gives you an almost butterfly blush look, don’t you think?

Whilst a subtle rosy colour is a good option, don’t be afraid to go for a bolder pink or red colour that exudes a gorgeous, theatrical look.

Smokey eyeshadow

This makeup look has always been a popular one, and in Spring of 2023, it is as popular as ever. Whilst a dark and smokey eyeshadow is the ideal sultry look for nights out, who said that smokey eyeshadow could not be done with warmer and brighter colours?

Warm pinks in particular are great for Spring, as well as pale oranges and blues. Make sure that you use a fluffy eyeshadow blending brush to help you create the perfect smokiness around your eyes.

Shine, shimmer, and sparkle

With the change of seasons, especially from Winter to Spring, comes the clearing of the skies. As the sun becomes fully visible, so will your natural glow when you step outside! So, remember to wear sunscreen regardless if the skies are clear or not.

In terms of makeup looks, Spring is the perfect season for shining and shimmery makeup looks! You can achieve this using highlight and shimmery blush and eyeshadow. You can also opt for shiny lip gloss for a complete sparkly look.

Whilst you can definitely have all aspects of your makeup look as shimmery, it would also be a good idea to just have one part as shimmery. For example, shimmery eyeshadow can also work best with a matte base.

Intense eyeliner

If you are comfortable with a more striking look, smudgy eyeliner is certainly something that you should consider this Spring. Although Spring is associated with vibrant flowers, purity, and growth, this time of year can also be a time for a makeup look that juxtaposes the season.

Dark and black eyeliner is ideal for this type of look, especially placed on your waterline and tightly under your bottom lash line. You can blend this out subtly for a smudged look. A dark eyeliner is a wonderful contrast against a minimal base, so if you are ever in a rush and have only managed to apply your skincare and/or base makeup, don’t forget to pop on some dark eyeliner for a completed look!
