Which Branded Watches are Worth Buying?

Buying a new timepiece can be a long and confusing process, especially if it is your first time splashing money on a huge luxury purchase like this. When looking to buy a new branded watch, you should not really be thinking about the brand itself, rather the design of the watch, and whether that fits in with your lifestyle. Also, think about the likelihood of the price of the watch increasing or decreasing over time. To make it a little easier for you, we have put together a list of the luxury watch brands we think it is a good idea to invest in.

Why should I invest in a quality timepiece?

Buying watches as an investment is often a conversation that is seen as controversial. Many watch enthusiasts say that you should just buy a watch because you like it, not because it will make you money in the long run. However, most people do not just want to buy a watch and lose money on it, and that is understandable. So, take time to research the timepiece you are interested in and figure out whether that is the investment for you. A great thing about investing in a watch is that you will be able to pass it down to younger generations, as a family heirloom.

So which branded watches are worth my money?

There are discussions about which watches are actually worth your money. The point here is not to rule out any watches. You might have just been looking at a watch that is not on our list. That is ok, it could still be worth your money. But, if you are unsure of which brands to go for, here are a few pointers.

Rolex

We will begin with probably the most well-known brand on this list, Rolex. Their watches have become a bold statement of wealth, which means that some of their timepieces are in very high demand. So, how do I know which Rolex to choose? Well, the Submariner is one of Rolex’s most popular designs, due to its sleek but sporty design. This watch can also be submerged in water up to around 300 metres, perfect for individuals who love watersports or diving. The Submariner is a Rolex timepiece worth buying as an investment, if you are able to buy one at a reasonable price, then selling it on afterwards could make you a lot of money.

Audemars Piguet

Audemars Piguet is a world leader when it comes to luxury watches. The brand is most famous for its heavy steel watches, like the Royal Oak, which was first released in 1972. The Royal Oak is unlike any other watch as it has an octagonal bezel with hexagonal screws holding the bezel in place. Like some of the other luxury brands on this list, the Royal Oak is a completely waterproof watch. If you take a look at the Royal Oak, you can see why it is so popular and worth the money.

Patek Philippe

Patek Philippe is a watch brand like no other – it is independent and family-owned, even to this day. Their commitment to the craft should not be underestimated, Patek Philippe will service every watch they have ever made, regardless of how new or old it is. The Nautilus timepieces are among some of their most popular designs. This is because of their luxury sports watch design, which appeals to sports stars all over the world.

The best brands to collect

There are so many other luxury brands we could have also included in this list, like Cartier and Richard Mille. Once you have chosen the right brand for you, then look deeper into the design of their watches, the history behind them, and their process of craftsmanship. It is important that you go into detail about all of these three things before making a purchase. If you do end up in a situation where you are ready to sell your timepiece, you can be reassured in knowing that you have chosen to invest in a brand that is more likely to make you money, rather than lose it.
