Keith Richards: The Musician’s Fortune
How much money does Keith Richards have?
Keith Richards can already look back on a fulfilled life. After all, the father of five and grandfather is one of the founding members of one of the most famous bands of all time. Keith Richards earned his mad fortune with the Rolling Stones. The native Englishman now lives on an opulent property in the USA. His country home in England and an estate in the Caribbean also testify that this musician made it to the top. After all, it is not for nothing that his autobiography is more than 700 pages long. The cherished Keith Richards’ net worth is 420 million euros.
This book about his life also made him rich. At the Frankfurter Buchmesser were the rights to the autobiography auctioned off in 2007. There was a competition, which ended with an advance payment of at least 5.5 million euros for the musician. That’s a lot of books that wanted to be sold first. The children’s book “Gus und ich”, on the other hand, is more of a project close to the heart of the musician. Keith Richards created a kind of memorial to his grandfather. In addition, the musician was able to work with his daughter Theodora on this project. She made numerous illustrations for the children’s book.
One of the greatest musicians of all time
Together with Mick Jagger, the front man of the Stones, Keith Richards made it into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1993. Rolling Stone magazine also honored the musician and raised him Fourth place of the 100 best guitarists set. In the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Keith Richards, who in the meantime only called himself Keith Richard, can of course also be found together with his bandmates. Despite these many successes, excesses, drugs and diseases determined his life for a very long time.
The dark side of Keith Richard’s life
Keith Richards first made huge negative headlines in February 1967. His British estate was searched and one was found on judicial orders Confiscation of various suspicious substances. In fact, a facility came into being for possession of stimulants for which Keith Richards had no prescription. In addition, Mick Jagger had been in possession of marijuana while Richards had condoned the use of cannabis on his estate. This eventually earned Keith Richards a year in prison and a measly fine of just £ 500.
After all, Keith and Mick had to spend one night behind bars. They were then quickly released on bail of £ 14,000. The judgment against Keith Richards was even overturned in July of the same year by the competent court of appeal. However, this should not change the fact that Keith Richard’s life subsequently took an even more unfavorable turn. In the end he was addicted to heroin himself in the 1970s. In Canada, his drug possession even resulted in a one-year suspended sentence.
After he was finally able to free himself from the clutches of heroin in 1979, the musician had Alcohol, cocaine and sedatives far from sworn off. But that somehow seems to be part of the life of a real rock star. Richards himself states that he is only still alive today because the high quality of the drugs he has taken has always been very important to him. He had also strictly observed the dose of the prohibited substances. Otherwise his drug use would have led to his demise long ago.
