The fortune of “Harry Potter” star Daniel Radcliffe
How much money does Daniel Radcliffe have?
“The nerds are the ones who make films and do a lot of other cool things in life,” says Daniel Radcliffe, remembering in an interview with the Telegraph that he wasn’t exactly popular as a student. From nerd to cool nerd – this is the motto of the success story of the British actor and audience favorite. For 10 years he embodied that Sorcerer’s apprentice Harry Potter in the film series of the same name and thus became the highest paid British actor under the age of 30 and earned a fortune in the millions.
Meanwhile Radcliffe’s fortune is estimated at around 100 million euros. In the 2000s, thanks to the Harry Potter films, he was one of the young top earners in Hollywood Salaries between $ 19 million and $ 25 million. The British media consistently ranked him among the richest teenagers in the country. In 2010 he was on the list of the highest-paid male actors in Hollywood according to BBC News. For the 1st part of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” he landed on the Forbes list of the highest-grossing actors, alone in the the first month the film grossed $ 780 million.
From David Copperfield to Harry Potter
Daniel Radcliffe was born in London on July 23, 1989, the only child of literary agent Alan George Radcliffe and casting agent Marcia Jeannine Gresham. Both parents had acted during their childhood. So it shouldn’t have been too surprising for her when her 5-year-old son also expressed a request. However, he did not get the first role until he was 10 years old: as the young David Copperfield by Charles Dickens in the 1999 BBC literary film adaptation of the same name.
In the same year Warner Bros. bought the rights to the film adaptation of JK Rowling’s Harry Potter debut novel: “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” for around 1.4 million euros. Daniel Radcliffe was given the lead role as a sorcerer’s apprentice from Hogwarts, – however, director Chris Columbus had to persuade the parents well until they gave their consent. The resounding success of the film and the popularity of its leading actor also had their downsides: Radcliffe did not do well in school, and he was sometimes bullied by his classmates.
By 2011 Radcliffe represented the character of Harry Potter in 7 other films. As his success grew, so too did his fees, from about $ 1 million for Part 1 to several 20 million dollars for the sequels. The final part “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” (Part 2) broke all previous records; not only did the flick break the 1 billion dollar mark in worldwide box office results: it ranks 7th on the list of the most successful films of all time.

Assets outsourced to the company “Gilmore Jacobs”
To manage the income from his films, Radcliffe’s parents, Alan and Marcia, founded Gilmore Jacobs in 2000. At the end of 2013, the company was valued at around 75 million euros. Total assets refer not only to film revenues, but also take into account Radcliffe’s apartments in London and the United States, which are managed by two subsidiaries (worth around € 11 million).
