In Carolina’s life there was an important story, the one with the well-known walker Alex Schwazer. Born in 2008 from a chance meeting in Turin, the story between the two is characterized by complicity, esteem, passion and a lot of respect. Despite this, sport divides them: in 2012 Alex tested positive for the doping test and asked Carolina to lie for him, which Kostner actually does, declaring herself unrelated to the use of doping in the period preceding the request of her fiancé. A few months after the accusations made against Alex, the relationship collapses to the great chagrin of both of them.
I was with him for six years and I never imagined he was taking drugs. If he had told me, he would have lost all my respect. I loved him, he was the man I wanted to marry, I never expected such a thing. When the test results arrived, it was a big blow but I didn’t feel like leaving him at that moment: everyone was already turning their backs on him. We then drifted apart over time. When trust is broken it’s hard to mend a relationship, that’s life.
After two brief relationships with the Czech figure skater Tomas Verner and the former manager Giuseppe Gambardella, Carolina has finally found a stable love with her osteopath: Fabrizio Vittorini. The start of the relationship is dated 2018 and the two seem happier than ever.
